Time lapse video stock footage of the Menin Gate Memorial to the Missing in Ypres, hot spot for WW1 history lovers
The Menin Gate is the most famous Commonwealth war memorial in Flanders and perhaps the world. Tens of thousands of soldiers passed through here on their way to the front, many of them never to return.

This memorial shaped like a Roman triumphal arch displays the names of 54.896 soldiers of the then British empire who went missing in action.
Today, more than 100 years after the end of the war, the monument is still a ‘must see’ for hundreds of thousands of visitors to Flanders Fields. The CWGC will use this restoration to place the Monument in its context for present and future generations.
