(Browse the collection : West Flanders Province time lapse and video stock footage)
From the Rodeberg you have a view at the picturesque church tower of Loker. The tower with the four turrents has already been photographed a thousand times. Not only you have a view on Loker, but also on Nieuwkerke and further away you can see the Northern of France at the horizon. At nice weather you can even see Lille (Rijsel).
Kemmelberg, Monteberg, Rodeberg, Scherpenberg are all hills (bergs) surrounding Loker which provides one with a panoramic view of the church of which the most imposing part is the sturdy square tower topped by four small conical towers. The church was rebuilt in yellow brick in late neo gothic style in 1924 by the architect A. Dumon on the foundations of an old 15th century church. After the First World War, only the tower, which is protected, remained of this ancient church.
Locre (now Loker) was in Allied hands during the greater part of the war, and field ambulances were stationed in the Convent of St. Antoine. The village changed hands several times between 25 and 30 April 1918, when it was recaptured by the French.
