De Haan is one the most charming beach resort of Belgian seaside; it has kept classic architecture and authenticity, which makes it different to other coastal towns

De Haan has a mere 12.000 inhabitants and contains some of the country’s most beautiful Belle Epoque mansions (The town hall, Hotel Savoyarde), and holds the yearly Belle Epoque festival in July.
Located along the Belgian coast, De Haan is a charming little village and also one of the country’s best beach resorts. The village has maintained its 1930s architectural style and charm, with the majority of houses being stunning white villas.
The town of De Haan became more and more popular, and luckily the council decided that De Haan was supposed to keep its authenticity instead of building big apartment blocks. So it will kind of feel like time stood still, and you will see a clear difference with other coastal cities. The De Haan Belgium beach hasn’t got many iconic landmarks, but they have the longest beach on the flemish coast (12km long).
