North Sea marine landscape : mix of sea, sand and sky by cloudy weather conditions, video stock footage of the belgian coastline in West Flanders
(Browse the collection : West Flanders Province time lapse and video stock footage)
Belgium has only 70 km of coast on the North Sea, but the Belgians haven’t underestimated its value. Real estate plays big here, and many well-to-do Belgians have a second house or an apartment somewhere near one of the Belgium’s fine whitesand beaches. One peculiarity of the Belgian coast is the abundance of tall apartment buildings, especially in places like De Panne, Ostend and Blankenberg.
(Eupedia)
It may be just 67km long, but the Belgian coastline is home to more than 20 individual resorts. To outsiders, those seaside resorts are mostly made up of chaotic and ugly concrete buildings. Yet despite the unattractive architecture and apparent lack of nature, millions of people visit each year.
Only 50 minutes by train from Brussels, a visit to the Belgian coast is a great way to relax, enjoy the occasional summer sunshine and take a break from the city lifestyle. With 65 kilometres of coast, Belgium has a lot of different seaside resorts to choose from.
