Several sources and springs, known locally as the Pouhouns can be found in the town itself and the surrounding hills.Waters are not identical,and vary in composition and chracteristics: some aresparkling,some iron-rich, others slightly mineralised. The pouhouns are always accessible to visitors, each of them useful to treat different conditions.
The underground source discovered in 1863 a year by pharmacist Schaltin is distinguished by a high content of minerals obtained during the final part of the underground journey. The original building in which the source is located dates from the 19th century. Art exhibitions take place there throughout the year. The glass pyramid adjacent to the building was built in 1988 year, according to the design of architect Marcel Geenen.
This source, discovered in the 19th century, located not far from the lion Peter the Great comes from the same water table. It is distinguished by a richer mineral composition, acquired during the final part of its underground journey. In balance with the 19th century glass roof, framing the building of the original source, the present pyramid is the architectural reflection of the end of the 20th century.
