The impetus for La Brasserie des Bobelines was a call for project applications, set out by the town of Spa as a way to revitalise the Pavillon des Petits Jeux, a 19th-century building recognised
as a Belgian national heritage site. Bobeline & Cie co-founder Didier Dumalin answered the call, putting forth an idea he had been contemplating for a long time.

Walking was part of the regimen recommended by the local doctors in the 18th century, so we strolled into the Parc de Sept Heures, one of three public landscaped parks. Inaugurated in 1758, the park is dotted with Belle Epoque constructions, often melding wrought iron and glass. There are pavilions, kiosks and a covered promenade where patients were instructed to stroll several times a day.
In the park next to the hill there is the Leopold II Gallery, opened in 1878 year. Two pavilions, whose roofs are supported by hundreds of iron columns, were typical buildings in nineteenth-century thermal cities. They were used for parties and games. The buildings are inscribed on the Walloon Special Heritage List. In the park you will also find some interesting monuments, a small laundry museum and a mini golf course.
