Summer vibes in the touristic heart of the belgian Ardennes : the disused railway bridge over the Semois river near Herbeumont village
(Browse the collection : Province of Luxembourg time lapse and video stock footage)
Herbeumont is marked by the disused railway Herbeumont-Bertrix-Muno: it was built from 1902 to 1914 in a specific way to avoid crossings, with many bridges and 3 tunnels (Orgéo, Mortehan and with its 1396m the longer one, Sainte-Cécile, which is closed for security reasons). It served the Germans during the two wars to resupply their troops to Verdun.
Herbeumont is a little village with some remarkable establishments which makes it perfect for your travelogue. Herbeumont is a French citizen of Belgium, in the southern province of Luxembourg. The name Herbeumont consists of the German word HERB which means harsh and the Latin substantive MONT which means height. We can also understand this name as “grassy mountain”.
