Sunset light in the village of Torgny : street scene and front house with a very meridional touch, an island of lifestyle, beauty and quietness
(Browse the collection : Province of Luxembourg time lapse and video stock footage)
The Gaume Region is a beautiful and relatively unexplored part of the country, located in the south of Wallonia, wedged in between France and Luxembourg. In contrast to the more rugged Ardennes, Gaume – or Belgian Lorraine for the well-read – is a hilly country full of gentle slopes. It’s Belgium’s sunniest region, which is reflected in its fertile meadows, forests and vineyards.
(Trot Op)
One of the most beautiful towns in Belgium to visit that Brits have rarely heard of is Torgny. It sits right down on the border with France, just west of Luxembourg. It has its own microclimate making it a picturesque and flowery place to discover. It’s particularly wonderful to take a walk through Torgny’s pretty streets with its stone buildings brought to life with floral displays.
Here you are in the heart of the little “Belgian Provence”! Ranked as one of the most beautiful villages in Wallonia since 1996, Torgny enjoys the privilege of its sunshine which still enables vinegrowing today. While strolling along the sloping streets, you will discover houses built of local stone and Roman tiles (typical of the region), a hermitage, a nature reserve known for its orchids, hillside vineyards and magnificent landscapes.
