Brussels by night cityscape time lapse : road traffic and modern architecture of Manhattan-Rogier business district
(Browse the collection : Brussels City and Region time lapse and video stock footage)
As well as a firm commitment to sustainability, Manhattan has been designed with people in mind demonstrated through the outstanding business ecosystem and, more profoundly, through a new standard for healthy internal environments.
Originally, 60 tower buildings were going to be erected in this district, rising 13 metres above the motorway network that was going to be extended into the city, the Brussels Master Architect Kristiaan Borret explains. Manhattan, is a purely functional district, created for work and to facilitate mobility
Connecting the Place de Brouckere to the Boulevard du Jardin Botanique and the Boulevard d’Anvers, the Boulevard Emile Jacqmain forms the western branch of the fork which marks the northern end of the Central Boulevards. Sumptuous in its time, the former Boulevard de la Senne was bordered by apartment buildings, commercial buildings, luxury hotels, town houses, and some bourgeois dwellings, which have now mostly been replaced by offices.
